As one generation of forest products professionals passes its knowledge and responsibilities to the next, emerging leaders are bringing new ideas, skills and perspectives to the industry. Across Domtar, early career employees are building on decades of expertise while finding new ways to improve how forests are managed, mills operate and teams work together.
Three Canadian industry publications have highlighted the role a new generation is playing in shaping and continually reinventing the forest products sector.
- Marc-Alexandre Audet and Jessica Susanto were selected as Top 10 Under 40 winners by Pulp & Paper Canada.
- Vincent Corbeil and Christa Campbell were selected for Canadian Forest Industries’ Top 20 Under 40.
- Mathieu Douchain and Mathieu Tremblay received Top 10 Under 40 recognition from Opérations forestières.
Together, their accomplishments reflect the wide range of expertise across Domtar, from sustainable forest management and continuous improvement to engineering, maintenance and sawmill optimization.
Meet these Emerging Leaders
Marc-Alexandre Audet fosters collaboration and demonstrates outstanding performance
Marc-Alexandre Audet is maintenance manager at Domtar’s Saint-Felicien Kraft Pulp Mill in Quebec. He has been with the company, including legacy Resolute Forest Products, since 2012.
Marc-Alexandre is a trusted right-hand leader at the mill. He consistently delivers on his commitments with rigor and efficiency, demonstrating outstanding performance while maintaining a strong focus on cost control and adherence to timelines, and actively promotes knowledge sharing across departments, fostering stronger cross-functional collaboration.

Jessica Susanto leads knowledge-sharing forum
Jessica Susanto is senior advisor for Domtar’s Continuous Improvement Center of Excellence. She has worked for Domtar, including legacy Paper Excellence, since 2011.
She leads Domtar’s annual Continuous Excellence Conference, which brings together participants from across Domtar’s mills and corporate offices to learn from one another and celebrate performance improvement.
“The best ideas in our company come from the people closest to the work, and Jessica’s leadership of the Continuous Excellence Conference ensures there is a venue to share and celebrate those ideas,” says Steve Henry, President of Domtar in the United States and CEO, Paper and Packaging. “The conference is one of the most powerful engines of employee engagement and knowledge sharing we have, and Jessica manages every part of it.”
Vincent Corbeil turns major investments into long-term results
Vincent Corbeil discovered the forest products industry while studying mechanical engineering and completing internships at Domtar. The scale of the equipment, the complexity of the operations and the expertise of the people he encountered convinced him to build his career in the sector.
Today, Vincent helps coordinate a portfolio of more than 75 projects. His work supports the long-term competitiveness, reliability and sustainability of Domtar’s Windsor mill in Quebec.
Christa Campbell combines forestry, technology and community engagement
Growing up in Northwestern Ontario, Christa Campbell developed an early connection to the forest. Her father was a Registered Professional Forester, and her family’s time spent camping, fishing and hunting helped inspire her own career in responsible forest management.
Christa became a Registered Professional Forester in Ontario after completing an 18-month mentorship program. She has also taken a leadership role in modernizing forestry processes, including earning an Advanced Operations Pilot Certificate for remotely piloted aircraft systems.
Mathieu Douchain finds new value in every log
Mathieu Douchain is supervisor, sawmill optimization and quality, at Domtar’s Saint-Félicien sawmill. What began as a professional opportunity quickly developed into a passion for process optimization and wood products.
His creativity and problem-solving abilities helped him earn first place in the Employee Ideas category at Domtar’s Continuous Excellence Conference. According to sawmill superintendent Erika Blackburn, Mathieu’s greatest strength is his ability to look beyond traditional methods and propose new approaches.
Mathieu Tremblay connects decisions with operational results
Mathieu Tremblay, sawmill superintendent at Domtar’s La Doré sawmill, found an industry where his mechanical engineering knowledge could quickly produce tangible results.
Mathieu wants to help people better understand forest management and the renewal cycle behind the industry. In the coming years, he plans to continue advancing his career at Domtar while contributing to the performance of its operations.
Despite current market challenges, Mathieu remains confident about the industry’s future and the role wood products can play in a lower-carbon economy.
The recognition of these four employees demonstrates the strength of Domtar’s emerging leaders and the variety of careers available throughout the forest products sector. Through their technical knowledge, collaborative leadership and desire to keep improving, they are helping prepare both Domtar and the industry for the future.
