Our Focus Areas

We believe that our Company’s community investments are more genuine and meaningful when there is an obvious connection between our charitable giving and the broader social benefits provided by the products we make. That is why Domtar’s community investment decisions show a preference for programs that promote:

Education & Literacy
We believe that education is key to a young person’s success and are committed to supporting organizations that ensure quality education and literacy programming.
Collaborative Resource Management
We prioritize regular dialogue with Indigenous communities in our operating areas. Our consensus-based approach ensures that Indigenous communities are actively involved in our forest management planning, fostering respect for cultural, environmental, and social priorities. For more information on our approach, including certifications and sustainable practices, visit our Woodlands and Certification sections.
Environment & Sustainability
Our management and use of forests—a renewable resource—are at the core of our entire business. We partner with organizations that promote responsible forestry, support wildlife habitats and fund related research.
Humanitarian Needs in our Communities
At the heart of our success as a company is the recognition that we are inextricably tied to the success and well-being of the communities we operate in.
