Two employees from Resolute’s Ontario woodlands operations were among those recognized in the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) 2022 Awards of Excellence. The program celebrates individuals who help make the Canadian forest products sector a world leader in sustainable forest management and advance the environmental, social and economic benefits of Canadian forestry. According to FPAC president and CEO Derek Nighbor, “FPAC launched the Awards of Excellence initiative in 2018 to honor some of our best and brightest, and to celebrate some special people doing incredible work in our industry.”
Tom Ratz, manager, Forestry, received the Outstanding Member of the Year award, which is presented to individuals who have gone above and beyond in advancing the values of environmental stewardship, strengthening forestry communities, and supporting sector colleagues and partners.
Christa Campbell, coordinator, Forestry, received a Rising Star award, which recognizes young women and men in the forest products industry who bring passion and pride to their work every day and are making a unique contribution to their workplace. Christa has introduced several new initiatives at Resolute, such as spearheading a tree-planting event, producing an educational video on harvest operations and organizing forest tours for teachers.
