Summary

Our Q4 2025 Sustainability Strategy update shares our progress toward the goals in Domtar’s 2030 Sustainability Strategy.

In Domtar's Q4 2025 Sustainability Strategy Update, we share updates on Domtar’s 2030 Sustainability Strategy, which we launched in Q2 2025. This is part of our commitment to quarterly updates on our progress across the three pillars of Domtar's sustainability strategy: Environmental StewardshipOur People and Communities and Responsible Business.

These updates will continue in 2026 as we turn that framework into action, starting with this update on the progress we made between October and December 2025. Our first sustainability report and improved CDP scores as an integrated company, released during this time, provide a closer look at the three pillars of our sustainability strategy and the accomplishments we made during the year.

Domtar's Q4 2025 Sustainability Strategy Updates

Under our Environmental Stewardship pillar, we’ve set several objectives related to our stewardship of the planet’s resources. In Q4 2025, we successfully:

  • Developed our first consolidated greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory across all operations and scopes of GHG emissions (Scopes 1, 2 and 3), giving us a clearer view of our value chain footprint and enhancing our reporting capabilities to respond to growing customer requests about our carbon profile.
  • Established a framework for setting an independent science-based reduction target for our Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions reduction target by Q4 2026, informed by operational scenarios and reputable climate sources.
  • Finalized our biodiversity risk assessment methodology and completed a biodiversity engagement pilot in collaboration with suppliers, experts and other business partners at our Johnsonburg mill.

With respect to Our People and Communities, we also made progress on our goals related to employee safety, Indigenous partnerships, community engagement, talent development and the employee experience. For this Q4 2025 Sustainability Strategy update, we have:

Our Responsible Business pillar is the foundation for how we engage customers, business partners and other stakeholders ethically, transparently and sustainably. In this Q4 2025 Sustainability Strategy update, we:

  • Submitted our first CDP disclosure as an integrated company, earning scores that improve our legacy companies’ performance in every category, including an A- in Forests and an A in the new Commodities category.
  • Received outstanding customer support recognition from Crayola for consistent attention to detail, timeliness and accuracy in responding to sustainability-related data requests.
  • Initiated Domtar's External Sustainability Advisory Committee in September 2025, bringing in expert advisors to guide the ambition, rigor and transparency of our sustainability strategy.
  • Attended the 2025 Forest Stewardship Council General Assembly in Panama, reinforcing our support for responsible forestry standards and global certification governance.

Sustainability at Domtar means committing to responsible stewardship of the environment, supporting and engaging with our people and communities, and operating as a responsible business. This is the foundation for the three pillars of our sustainability strategy, which guides us toward 2030 with measurable goals. We track our sustainability strategy’s progress internally, verify it externally and report it transparently on Domtar.com.
