Theodore Allegaert was appointed Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary in September 2026.  

Ted joined Domtar as VP, Special Counsel – Treasury and Finance in early 2025 and was then promoted to VP, Deputy Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary.  

Over his 30-year career, Mr. Allegaert has gained a broad range of legal competency and has extensive transnational experience in corporate law and business counseling, including in respect of governance, capital markets, trade regulation, SEC reporting, M&A, commercial transactions, labor matters, compliance and litigation. He also has significant board-level and company secretarial experience. 

Prior to joining Domtar, Mr. Allegaert served as Chief Legal Officer of Zapp Electric Vehicles Group, Ltd. (Nasdaq: ZAPP) and as Chief Legal Officer of FerroGlobe PLC (Nasdaq: GSM) prior to that.   

Mr. Allegaert holds a Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from The University of Chicago Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College in New York. He is licensed in New York, California and Florida.
