Sébastien Richard is the Interim Chief Human Resources Officer at Domtar.

Mr. Richard is a seasoned human resources leader with more than 30 years of experience, including over 15 years in the forest products industry and more than a decade with Domtar. He began his career as a national union representative, supporting unions in municipal and government organizations as well as across industries such as food, transportation, wood processing, retail, and manufacturing.

He joined Domtar in 2002 as Regional Superintendent, Human Resources, based in Saint-Félicien, Québec, and was promoted to Director, Human Resources in 2006, sharing responsibility for the Québec region within the Wood Products division.

After leaving the company in 2008, he held different human resources leadership roles in industries including naval, food, and automotive manufacturing, and also served as Operations Site Leader for a USNR manufacturing plant in Québec.

Mr. Richard rejoined Domtar in 2018 as Senior Director, Human Resources and was promoted to Vice President, Human Resources in 2021.

He is a Certified Human Resources Professional.
