As global chief sustainability officer, Sabrina de Branco oversees sustainability at Domtar and its sister companies. She leads a diverse and talented team responsible for innovation for sustainability and climate, sustainability governance, strategy and risk management, and strategic partnerships and engagement focusing on sustainability. She is currently leading the definition of a global sustainability strategy for Domtar and its sister companies, covering all operations in the United States, Canada, France and Brazil.
Before joining the group in 2021, she held senior executive roles in sustainability, creating and implementing governance and strategies not only in sustainability but also in the areas of social responsibility, corporate relations and communications. With over 17 years of leadership experience in multinational companies on wide-ranging projects such as mining and reforestation for pulp and paper production, she also has solid expertise in stakeholder management, shared value creation, and brand and reputation management. She was the first woman elected to chair a union of pulp and paper industries in Brazil (Sindpacel – BA).
Committed to extended education, De Branco has degrees in radio and television (Universidade Estadual de Santa Cruz) and journalism (Faculdade de Tecnologia e Ciências), with MBAs in project management (Fundação Getúlio Vargas) and business management (Faculdade Santo Agostinho), a master’s in social development and management (Universidade Federal da Bahia), and extensions in environment and sustainable development (Fundação Getúlio Vargas), sustainability (Dom Cabral Foundation), business sustainability management (University of Cambridge), and strategy (Nanyang Technological University – Singapore). Additionally, she is a professional coach and development project manager internationally certified by the PMDPro.
