Resolute Employees Join Local Scouts to Plant 800 Trees

On May 30, employees from our Ontario woodlands operations joined local scouts to plant 800 trees in just two hours! The planting event took place at Wishart Conservation Area, a 221-hectare spruce and jack pine forest in the boreal zone managed by the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority, which maintains the trails, parking areas, boat launches and other facilities located within the region.

Members of our forestry team happily answered the scouts’ questions on silviculture and forest dynamics, prompting numerous positive comments from their leaders and parents who attended.

The spring event took place independently from Resolute’s regular reforestation activities, which are essential to responsible and sustainable forest management.

Thanks to Scouts Canada, the Lakehead Regional Conservation Authority and our employees whose efforts helped make this event happen, including Erin Kielt, silviculture forester; Ethan Brandt and Ashton Overton, forestry students; and Autumn Lachine, woodlands intern.
