Located at the head of picturesque Alberni Inlet on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Port Alberni Mill is the single largest employer in the community. Commissioned in 1946, Port Alberni was the first British Columbia mill to integrate residuals from sawmills. Committed to environmental sustainability, Port Alberni Mill derives 89% of its energy from renewable sources with an 81% reduction in greenhouse gases since 1990. Community Investment

Port Alberni is a proud sponsor of the Oceanside, Nanaimo, and Alberni Valley Minor Hockey Associations. The mill supports the Port Alberni Salvation Army, and in 2024, provided $10,000 to the organization. The mill supports the local SPCA, Special Olympics BC – Port Alberni and has also provided support for multiple academic scholarships. Port Alberni provided support to the Tseshaht First Nation for a Residential School commemorative event.
