Governance and Reporting
In today’s world, sustainability governance is key to building a company’s reputation, earning customer trust and inspiring employee loyalty. Domtar’s commitment is to conduct all business affairs with unwavering integrity within an environment of respect, candor and good faith.
Our Global Sustainability Steering Committee is our highest governing authority on sustainability-related matters. It includes representatives from the Management Board, all Business Unit (BU) Presidents, Chief Finance Officer, Chief Legal Officer, Senior Vice Presidents of HR and Sales, and the Global Chief Sustainability Officer.
With the support of the Sustainability Team, our management-level Sustainability Committees are tasked with implementing our Sustainability Strategy and related plans within our business units. The committees are cross-functional groups of senior managers and subject-matter experts who meet quarterly with a mandate that includes, but is not limited to:

Domtar’s External Sustainability Advisory Committee (ESAC), established in 2025, brings together independent, external experts on a quarterly basis to help guide our sustainability journey, with each meeting focused on specific topics. The committee includes leaders from academia, Indigenous relations, and global manufacturing organizations who are tasked with providing strategic advice to strengthen Domtar’s sustainability efforts.
We are committed to developing our sustainability program transparently in accordance with recognized international standards and frameworks. We share the United Nations’ (UN) vision for a more inclusive, peaceful and prosperous future and aim to integrate the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) into our sustainability strategy. Our focus on the SDGs helps us fulfill our aspiration to be a more efficient and competitive company, a better employer, a stronger business partner, and even more deeply engaged in the communities in which we live and work.
Domtar is also proactively aligning its global sustainability strategy and reporting program with Europe’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Our ongoing commitment to transparency and annual sustainability reporting includes disclosing our climate and forest management performance to CDP, a globally recognized non-profit framework that has long championed environmental disclosure as standard business practice.
