Newsweek Retro Edition
With Newsweek planning a retro edition to promote the new season of the popular throwback TV series “Mad Men,” Domtar decided to place an ad in the special issue, because not only was it an opportunity to have fun with the creative, it was a perfect platform to make a point about the value of paper.
Readers voted the Domtar ad as their favorite, ahead of a number of well-known brands like SPAM, Hush Puppies, Mercedes, Allstate and Geico.

Hatch Show Print
We partnered with Hatch Show Print, a legendary letterpress shop, to create a limited-edition poster that highlighted both paper’s effectiveness and charitable design. It expanded the reach of PAPERbecause to AIGA’s “Design for Good” Initiative, an effort that supports pro bono design projects, encouraging designers use their creatively to benefit the community.

Paper Does More Than You Think!
We published a collection of essays to explain the bigger message behind many of the ads featured in the PAPERbecause campaign. They expanded on the research that demonstrated how paper plays a role in learning, preserving information, attracting customers, finding a job – even conserving forests. The lesson: paper does more than you think!

Old Ebbitt Grill' News Receipt
Domtar teamed with the Old Ebbitt Grill to give customers the latest headlines, delivered right to their table. While dining at the infamous restaurant in Washington D.C., customers received a “news receipt” with updates from The Associated Press, highlighting stories that broke during the customers’ meals. The point was to keep diners off of their phones and in conversation with each other.
