Here’s how it started … 

As demand for paper started to decline, we noticed many “myths” about paper use. Domtar decided to showcase how paper remained both essential and sustainable. We launched PAPERbecause, sharing our message with videos, a website, news pitches and a series of ads that ran online and, of course, in print. We highlighted how Domtar partnered with the world’s leading environmental groups, pioneering ways to make paper while helping forests thrive. We reminded people of ways paper brings them joy – from hanging diplomas to receiving anniversary cards. And we spotlighted how students learn better by reading and writing on paper. 

PAPERbecause even paved the way for the creation of the Paper and Packaging Board to oversee an industry -wide campaign called “How Life Unfolds.”
