When we received a custom-designed package of Olive & Sinclair Peppermint Bark as a holiday gift from our friends at Lithographics, I was immediately struck by the rich red, subtle varnish and vintage-inspired typography on the packaging (the treats inside were a nice bonus).
Riley Carroll, of Sideshow Sign Co., designed this beautiful packaging piece. “I wanted to keep the design simple, bold and classic. I had the idea of abstract, wavy lines going all the way around the cylinder,” Carroll said. “I wanted to print them in a spot gloss, but I also wanted to use an uncoated paper.”
In the end, Cougar Vellum was the paper of choice, due to its rich texture and spectacular printability.
