Ms. Alvarez has been appointed to the Board of the Corporation in 2012. She currently serves on our Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Committee. Ms. Alvarez is the Chief Executive Officer of Harmless Harvest, Inc., a privately held organic food and beverage company based in San Francisco. She served until February 2014 as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Pet Business unit at Del Monte Corporation. From 2011 to 2013, she served as Group President and Chief Executive Officer for Barilla Americas, where she was responsible for North, Central and South America’s operations of Barilla S.p.A., a global food and beverages company headquartered in Parma, Italy. From 2006 to 2010, she held senior global management positions with The Coca-Cola Company. Prior to that, she held a number of increasingly senior positions in marketing and general management with Kimberly-Clark Corporation and Procter & Gamble in the United States and Latin America. Ms. Alvarez is a director of Ruth's Hospitality Group, Inc.
Mr. Apple has been a member of our Board of Directors since October 2012. He currently serves on our Audit Committee. Mr. Apple is the Chief Operating Officer of MasTec, Inc., a national infrastructure construction company active in the engineering, building, installation, maintenance and upgrade of energy, communication and utility infrastructure. He has been in that capacity since 2006. During 2005 and 2006 he also served as President of the MasTec Energy Group. Prior to that, he was the Senior Vice President of Operations for the DIRECTV Group, Inc. Mr. Apple also has significant European experience, having served in various executive capacities from 1989 to 2001 within the Hughes Electronics and Telefonica S.A. organizations in Europe, including as Chief Executive Officer of Hughes Electronics-Spain, and Chief Operating Officer of the Telefonica broadcast satellite company.
Mr. Illingworth has been elected to our Board of Directors on October 29, 2013. He currently serves on our Audit Committee and on our Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Committee. Mr. Illingworth was the Chief Executive Officer and a director of Smith & Nephew plc, a leading global orthopaedics devices public company, from 2007 until his retirement in 2011. Prior to 2007, he served as Smith & Nephew’s Chief Operating Officer in 2006, and as President of the orthopaedics business from 2002 to 2006. Prior to his tenure with Smith & Nephew, Mr. Illingworth held senior executive positions with VidaMed, Inc., Nellcor Puritan Bennett LLC and GE Medical Systems, Inc. He is currently a director of Varian Medical Systems, Inc. Mr. Illingworth has extensive senior business leadership experience in the area of health care and medical products, as well as in-depth international knowledge of the life sciences and institutional health care sectors.
Mr. Levitt has been a director of the Corporation since 2007. He currently chairs our Finance Committee and is a member of our Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. From 1991 to 2000, Mr. Levitt was president and then chief executive officer of Imasco Limited, a public consumer products and services company. Mr. Levitt is counsel to Osler Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, a major Canadian law firm. He has also been vice-chair and co-chair of the firm, and, prior to his time with Imasco, he was a partner in the firm. Mr. Levitt has served on boards of directors of public companies since 1987 and currently serves as chairman of the board of The Toronto-Dominion Bank. Mr. Levitt is an Officer of the Order of Canada and a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Mr. Maffucci is a Director of the Corporation since May 2011. He is the Chair of our Audit Committee, serves on our Finance Committee and is a member of our Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Since 2005, Mr. Maffucci has served on the board of directors of Martin Marietta Materials Inc., the second largest producer of construction aggregates in the United States, where he chairs the audit committee and is also a member of the finance committee. Mr. Maffucci served on the board of directors of Xerium Technologies, Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of consumable products used in paper production, from November 2008 to August 2010, also serving on Xerium’s audit and compensation committees from 2008 to 2009. From June 2009 to August 2010, he also served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Xerium. From 2005 to 2006, Mr. Maffucci served as executive vice president of Bowater Incorporated and president of its newsprint division. He served as chief financial officer of Bowater Incorporated from 1995 to 2005 and held a variety of positions in its finance organization throughout much of his career. Mr. Maffucci previously worked at KPMG.
Ms. Strobel has been a member of our Board of Directors since 2007. She currently chairs our Human Resources Committee and is a member of our Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. In 2005, Ms. Strobel retired as an Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Exelon Corporation, one of the largest U.S. electric utilities where she had the overall responsibility for the financial performance of the utility companies serving the Chicago and Philadelphia regions. During her tenure with Exelon and its predecessor companies, starting in 1993, Ms. Strobel served as an Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer and as Chief Executive Officer of Commonwealth Edison Company, as an Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Unicom Corporation and Commonwealth Edison Company, as President of Exelon’s Business Services Company, and as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Exelon Energy Delivery, the holding company for Exelon’s energy delivery business. Her various positions at Exelon required engaging with customers, regulators and legislators. Ms. Strobel was named as one of Fortune Magazine’s Top 50 Women in Business in 2002. She currently is a director of State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company and of Illinois Tool Works, Inc. where she also chairs the audit committee and serves as a member of the executive committee.
Mr. Turcotte has served on the Board of Directors since 2007. He is a member of our Human Resources Committee and our Finance Committee and currently chairs our Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Committee. Mr. Turcotte is currently managing partner at Brookfield Asset Management, an alternative asset management company focused on real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy, and private equity. He is a director of Norbord Inc., was formerly the president and CEO of North Channel Management Inc., and from 2002 to 2008 was the president and CEO and a director of Algoma Steel Inc. a publicly listed North American steel company. From 1992 to 2002, he held a number of senior executive positions with companies in the pulp and paper industry, including president of the paper group and executive vice-president of corporate development and strategy of Tembec Inc., a leading integrated forest products company with operations in North America and France.

John D. Williams has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Domtar since January 2009. He is also a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Williams has more than 30 years of experience in both consumer products and packaging. He began his career in consumer product sales in 1976, gaining insight into key market dynamics in the U.K. and the U.S. In 1988, he became European Managing Director of Sweetheart International, a major food packaging and food service business, where he cultivated a customer-driven market view and contributed to record profit and sales growth. In 1992, the company was acquired by the Finnish conglomerate, Huhtamaki. Mr. Williams was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Group President of the packaging business (Polarcup), one of the company’s core divisions. Mr. Williams’ experience in the packaging sector continued to grow at Rexam, the world’s second largest consumer packaging group. There, he held a number of senior management roles in specialty food packaging from 1996 to 2000. His professional journey then took him to SCA Packaging, a business group of the global consumer goods and paper giant, SCA. As President of SCA Packaging Europe from 2005 to 2008, Mr. Williams helped transform the company from an undifferentiated manufacturer into a market-driven, customer-oriented packaging solutions provider. Mr. Williams is Lead Independent Director of the Board of Directors of Owens Corning (NYSE: OC); Chair of the advisory board of the Stern Center for Sustainable Business at New York University; the past Chairman of the Paper and Packaging Board (the Paper Check-off); and the past Chairman of the Board for the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA). In 2010, he was named North American CEO of the Year by RISI as well as Global CEO of the Year by Pulp & Paper International (PPI). Mr. Williams was named 'Executive Papermaker of the Year' for 2012 by PaperAge Magazine. He also serves on the boards of the British-American Business Council of North Carolina, which promotes trade and investment between the state and the United Kingdom, and the nonprofit Camp Blue Skies Foundation, which is dedicated to enhancing the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities.
Ms. Mary A. Winston has been elected to the Board of the Corporation in December 2015. She currently serves on our Audit Committee, our Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Committee, and our Finance Committee. Ms. Winston is currently President of WinsCo Enterprises Inc., a consulting firm providing financial and board governance advisory services. From 2012 until August 2015, she served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Family Dollar Stores, Inc., a leading retailer which was acquired by Dollar Tree in July 2015. Before joining Family Dollar, Ms. Winston served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Giant Eagle, Inc., a leading grocery and fuel retailer. Prior to that, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Scholastic Corporation, a global leader in publishing, education and media. Ms. Winston has also held executive-level positions with Visteon Corporation, a global automotive supplier, and with Pfizer, Inc. She started her career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a global public accounting firm. Ms. Winston is a director and is chairperson of the audit committee of Dover Corporation, a global diversified manufacturer of industrial products. Ms. Winston also serves on the board of directors, the audit committee, and the leadership development & compensation committee of Supervalu, Inc., one of the United States' largest grocery wholesalers and retailers, and on the board of directors, the compensation committee and the governance committee of Acuity Brands, Inc., one of the world's leading providers of innovative lighting systems.
