Frequently asked questions
- 8 - Q : What should I do?
- If the tree is not too high and you are able to reach the broken top, cut off the damaged part as close as possible to the longest, best-located secondary branch. Then train the chosen branch to grow vertically by attaching it to a stake solidly planted in the ground. If the tree is very tall, it is best to call a tree specialist. Otherwise, let nature take its course. The tree may survive if the injury is not too severe. However, the structure of the tree may be weakened if several shoots replace the original top. In two years, you should select the most central one and cut off the others.
