30 - Q : How can you tell if a sugar maple will survive?

A : A healthy maple whose remaining branches have few serious wounds (very little missing bark) and that still has at least one third of its crown has a good chance of surviving. Contrary to the case with dieback, the root system has not been damaged by the ice and remains effective.
