Frequently asked questions
- 26 - Q : I have cut the broken branches off my trees. What should I do in future years?
- A : Ice breakage is one of the main reasons for reconstructing the crown of a tree. After being damaged by ice, the tree compensates for the loss by stimulating the dormant and adventitious buds that form weak branches. Select sprouts to replace the primary branches according to their vigour and their location and do some thinning during the years following the damage.
