Companies that belong to tree-growers associations are often up on the latest tree-care techniques. One such organization is the Québec chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Also ask whether the company you want to hire has liability insurance. Beware of swindlers who frighten people into signing tree-cutting "contracts". The current rate for a three-person crew is about $100 an hour.
