Frequently asked questions
- 1 - Q : My trees were covered with ice. Will I lose them all?
- A : Not necessarily. Trees that have not suffered major structural damage, such as split trunks, will recover in time. Trees are now dormant, so damage at this time of year is less serious than damage that occurs during the growing season. If a tree is reasonably healthy and only a few branches are damaged or removed, the tree should recover and in a few years its crown, or tree top, will probably appear normal. Broken branches should be removed, however, and loose bark cut back to the edge of wounds, taking care not to expand the damaged area.
